These chopping blocks are made from end-cut rubberwood. End-cut provides the hardest, most durable surface. It consists of many squares of crosswise-cut pieces glued together to create a stable surface that won''t warp.
Rubberwood is cut at the end of a latex producing tree''s life- approximately 30 years. When the tree is cut and harvested for timber use, a new tree is planted in its place. The rubberwood in our chopping blocks comes from Malaysia, which is one of the largest producers of rubber in the world. Rubberwood is widely recognized as a sustainable and environmentally friendly timber resource.
